Women- The Epitome of goodness

Aesthetically, our nation is perhaps the only country in the world which granted universal adult franchise without the need for women’s revolt like that of France or Britain. But, this political right is of no avail when women of our country are not implicitly provided with the social and economic rights.

Even after around 75 years of independence, the freedom given to women in our country is questionable. Our Constitution framers, did mention the provisions to safeguard women. Article 14, 42 and 39 clearly mentions the equality of women, fair pay, maternity relief and fair treatment to women. Besides this, the criminal code of the country, the Indian Penal Code also explicitly mentions in Section 375, 498A about rape and dowry death respectively. Supreme Court also from time to time, has interpreted the provisions widely and tried to enforce the decisions so as to give the maximum advantage to women. A famous example in this regard can be of the case of Vishaka v State of Rajasthan, in which the Court gave protection to women against sexual harassment at work place. Our honorable court also departed from the traditional convention followed at the Sabrimala temple and allowed the entry of women in shrine temple. Ban on Triple Talaq passed under the case Shayra Bano v Union of India, is yet another achievement of our generation. Our executive, i.e. the Government has too launched various policies, acts and schemes for protection of women. Ministry of Women & Child Development has been working in this regard and various schemes like, Beti bachao Beti padhao, Nirbhya, UJJAWLA, One Stop Center, Mahila Shakti Kendras (MSK) etc. are in force.

A considerable amount of legislation, policies and schemes are in force across the country to support the cause of women. Yet, what is really required is the ground level work. We at Winger Global Foundation adheres to the principles of protecting and uplifting women. Our dedicated team aims at providing economic resources to women, create awareness among them regarding their rights, providing means of employment, medical facilities and self-defense. The NGO works on the principle, that it is the need of the hour to protect our women against the atrocities faced by them at the hands of some evils in the society. We as a team stand totally against discrimination against women in any field and considers it a responsibility to give due protection, respect, care and attention to the women of our country.

“And one day she discovered that she was fierce, and strong, and full of fire, and that not even she could hold herself back because her passion burned brighter than her fears.” ― Mark Anthony, The Beautiful Truth
